Life's little coincidences...

Yesterday we went on a LONG, BORING, and TIRESOME shopping trip for school clothes. I had the iPods charged, I had downloaded a copy of Sponge Bob's "Friend or Foe" and we were on our way... The trip was quiet for most of the way home. We had done all the shopping we could afford, our tummies were full, and it was getting dark. My husband asked the kids to take the doll blankets a.k.a. sunshades out of the side windows because the sun was going down and they are more of a blind spot than not. Neither one listened, so he decided to help them out by unrolling the first window about an inch with the hopes that the kid would grab hold and pull the blanket in. Well, in one split second, the kid ignored his father's request for help (as usual) and the frog blanket with a yellow background and a PINK MARKER mark swooped out of the window and landed on the highway.

Regardless to say, this turned out to be the most favorite, most treasured blanket out of all the blankets owned by our family. There were a lot of tears and a lot of mean words said about the father who would not make an illegal turn on the interstate, stop the car and risk his life, all in the name of saving a blanket from the depths of hell -- (otherwise known as from the depths of the barrow pit).

To make things better, another little trip to Wal-Mart where everyone was able to choose their own material to make their own new, most favorite, most treasured blankets. Two blankets for the "cost" of one -- what a deal.
